Specialities“Finance” Speciality
The Finance and Credit Department trains professionals of the “Finance” speciality (6.050100, 7050.104, 8050.104) at full-time and extra-mural forms of studying.
Students of this department receive basic higher education and qualification of Bachelor in Finance (for full-time and extra-mural forms of studying – 4 years), complete higher education and qualification of Specialist in Finance (for extra-mural form of studying – 1 year, second higher education – 2,5 years), complete higher education and qualification of Master in Finance (normative term for full-time form – 1 year, for extra-mural form – 1,5 years) on the basis of bachelor qualification level. The educational and professional programme of the “Finance” speciality is based on the complex of disciplines of humanitarian, natural-science and general economic training cycles. Students’ professional training is provided by studying of the following disciplines: - Tax structure;
- Insurance Services; - Financial Analysis; - Banking Operations; - Budget System; - Financial Market; - Financial Activity of Economic Entities; - Financial Law; - Information Systems and Technologies in Finance; - Financial Management; - Control of Financial Readjustment at Enterprises; - International Financing; - Budgetary Management; - Taxation Management etc.
- Analysis of Financial and Economic Activity of Enterprises;
- Taxation; - Financial Intermediation; - Insurance; - Taxation Control and Supervision; - Control at District and City Levels.
Excellent students have an opportunity to pass examinations for the post-graduate course and continue their studies, and in due time, to defend Ph.D. thesis in 08.04.01speciality – “Finance, Currency Circulation and Credit”.
In order to control the quality of training, contacts with graduates are maintained. Curricula and subjects of research and graduation theses for students of this speciality are being constantly improved. There functions the student scientific society whose members prepare reports and scientific projects and publish articles in the university scientific editions. Students of the “Finance” speciality acquire high standard knowledge and have practical trainings in computer-equipped classrooms of the Faculty of Economics. Students engaged on degree thesis elaborate independently an application programme package with the view of using their own computer applications. Internet is widely used in term and degree papers preparation. At the modern stage, there exist a lot of institutions of higher education, including commercial ones, which train specialists in finance. But the Department’s experience gives good reason to confirm that the level of graduates’ education is very high. The Department gives special attention to consolidation of the connection between theoretical disciplines and practical functioning of financial and tax organizations of the city and region. For nearly twenty years there exists the Department’s branch in the Kharkiv central division of “Prominvestbank” where students practical production trainings before they defend their degree projects.
